Dao Madison was everything I had hoped it would be, and so much more!!! This is not your typical Chinese take-out. Dining here is an experience from the moment you walk through the doors. The staff is very welcoming, cheerful and accommodating to every detail. Our server was very helpful in suggesting dishes, and we felt like a part of the family having a home cooked meal. Everything we tried was prepared with a delicate-ness, finesse and great amount of detail. Every dish tasted so fresh and flavorful. Nothing was overpowering, oily or greasy. On this visit, we had hot and sour soup, soup dumplings (a must in all future visits!), scallion pancakes that were still dreaming of, the house special crispy duck, and something we never heard of, the Mala Dry Pot, which is a type of stir-fry cooking with peppers and fresh basil with pork, beef and chicken. All were outstanding!! We took home a menu, and are planning many future visits to try as many different dishes as we can! I cannot recommend this restaurant enough: you will not be disappointed and most likely will be thinking about your next visit.

What do you do when your goto Chinese restaurant is closed for the holiday? Trust your instincts!! Run, don’t walk, to Dao!! I was greeted by Yve smiling face and the experience only improved. Having never been here, I decided to order a few dishes I am very familiar with. The order was ready on time and I even received a text reminder. The place is spotless, inviting and top notch in every aspect! The taste of the food is the gastronomic equivalent of an orgasm!!! I can’t wait to experience the rest of the extensive menu. Truly a hidden gen in Jersey! Authentic Chinese food with infamous soup dumplings, the scallion pancake and the Peking duck. It tastes like home and will come back again for sure. So glad I have this place close to home and I no longer need to go to the city for Chinese food. Hands down. Service was nice and the place is so clean!

Went here on Xmas day after work around 6:15pm ordered for pick up at 5pm( WAITED 1 HOUR IN STORE). When I got there, it was pure pandemonium!! The line was literally out the door!! Like, don't ppl know how to cook around here, Lol. The restaurant is very small, and the phones were ringing off the hook. I'm not going to blame them for lack of service this day only because it was a holiday, and I'm going to assume they're probably not this busy on a regular day. 1 Lady in particular, a larger asian lady with glasses held the front end down for all of the takeout orders while the 2 teens just stood around and watched her struggle(they did bare minimum). WORD OF ADVICE to the restaurant.. If it ever gets that busy, have some runners take the take-out orders to the front and double check them b4 the order is given. I will say they are RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE. Literally soup dumplings (they serve pork only) and general tso chicken that comes with white rice ONLY cost $33.54 w/tax!! Normally, I'd pay $18 or $20 for those items for the same quality and larger portion somewhere else but they were closed. Tried to order fried rice instead of the white, and they said I'd have to pay extra for it as if it were a side. So I would get the white rice and fried rice together, so I left the order as is because it makes no sense paying more for that.. . The portion size was small and half EMPTY! The taste of the food was mediocre, the general chicken I can tell maybe if it was fresh out the pot it would be a bit crispy but since I waited an hour in store for my takeout it wasn't. In the end, I definitely won't be back because it's too expensive for the quality they're dishing out and the portion size.

Good was excellent, service was focused and accommodating in a great atmosphere! For appetizers, the soup dumplings were amazing. Entrees, we enjoyed the Chicken and Broccoli, as well as the healthy option Chicken/Shrimp/Pork w Vegetables platter. Also the soups - Wonton, Hot & Sour, and Miso soups were all excellent! Looking forward to returning again!!

Soooooo awesome to have a sit-down Chinese restaurant in town again! I visited for lunch and the food was fresh and really well flavored without being too salty or greasy. Plus super affordable - two lunch specials were $25. The kind owner even surprised us with fresh veggie dumplings (on the house) because the wait was a little longer than expected. The design is modern and fresh and simple and beautiful. I’ll definitely be back. 🥰
